YAMAHA AWARDED IN STEREO AND
- Sound+Image awards S3000 Series and AVENTAGE -
Celebrating its 25th year, the recent Sound+Image Awards served to recognise excellence
in more than 43 categories of the Australian AV industry. The Awards were hosted in
Melbourne this year on the 19th October as part of the Australian Audio & AV Show
schedule, and were attended by notables from media, retail and suppliers.
Yamaha took home five awards in total with two prominent titles in both stereo and multichannel
Stereo Amplifier of the year over $5000 A-S3000
AV receiver of the year over $2000 RX-A3030
AV receiver of the year over $2000 (highly commended) CX-A5000/MX-A5000
AV receiver of the year $1000-$2000 (highly commended) RX-A730
Sound bar of the year (highly commended) YAS-101
Yamaha’s new A-S3000 integrated amplifier only just made the deadline for eligibility -
making its debut only days before the awards - but took out the prestigious stereo amplifier
award in the top price bracket.
“The A-S3000 signals a return to the top-end of the Hi Fi market for Yamaha,” explained
Justin d’Offay - Product Manager for Yamaha Music Australia’s AV Division. “Winning this
award reinforces this position and establishes the model firmly in the minds of Hi Fi
enthusiasts in Australia. We’re extremely proud of this achievement given the many
accomplished brands that we’re competing against. The award highlights the strength of
the Yamaha brand, and the amazing capacity of our engineering team to produce such
fantastic products in a range of categories and price points.”
In the multi-channel category, the RX-A730 AVENTAGE receiver was highly commended
as a value option in the $1000-$2000 price bracket whilst the recently launched
AVENTAGE Separate Components (pre-amplifier and power amplifier combination) was
bested only by the RX-A3030 providing excellent value for features.
The RX-A3030 is the latest in a long line of Yamaha receivers to top the competition in the
highest price bracket. Dating back to 2007, Yamaha has had a monopoly on this award
which is testament to its position at the forefront of multi-channel home theatre, and the
pedigree of its flagship models in this hotly-contested category.
Completing Yamaha’s scorecard for the night, the company’s most popular sound bar - the
YAS-101 - was highly commended in the sound bar category amongst ever-growing
competition. The most affordable sound bar in Yamaha’s range, the YAS-101 delivers
remarkable value with performance and features belying its price point.
